Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators 2026


Following my entry into the Oxford German Olympiad 2026, I was awarded runner-up for the task I chose to complete, which was to write an essay in German on the future of vehicles titled “Fahrrad, Auto, Eisenbahn, Schiff, Flugzeug... Welche
Transportmittel werden wir im Jahr 2050 benutzen?”
On the afternoon of 6th June, a Saturday, my group (which consisted of 19 people, including me, plus Dr Symons and Mr Diebel) landed in Hamburg.



Our annual Year 10 Spanish trip to Salamanca enjoyed five days of brilliant sunshine, tapas, exciting activities and - best of all - spending time with friends.


From the 6th to the 11th March, a group of Japanese students from Years 10-12 were lucky enough to be able to take part in a Japanese exchange programme where we hosted students from Keio Senior High school, a school located between Tokyo and Mt Fuji.

The Oxford German Olympiad is an annual competition run by the Oxford German Network to promote German language and culture among school pupils across the UK.
