LeadHer ♥ Badminton 5/10/26
We held the first LeadHer event for girls in BGS on Monday 5 October. This was a badminton tournament for girls of all ages and all abilities.
It was organised and run by a fantastic Year 13 team; Layla, Bea, Bess & Anagha, and it was great to see the girls enjoying the activity & mixing together. My favourite moment was watching a Year 12 pair choosing to split & play one each with a less experienced Year 7 pair, to help them enjoy the game – embodying the spirit of the occasion!

I enjoyed participating in the badminton tournament with other girls, as it gave me a chance to try something new that I wouldn't normally do; it made me feel more confident. It also made me want to continue badminton in the future. I also felt like I belonged in this society as, on the day of the tournament, girls came together and started playing badminton.
Additionally, it didn't matter about whether you were skilled at badminton or not; it was an opportunity to play and have fun whether you won or lost the match.
