Year 8 students recently took part in an exciting competition connecting their research on coral reefs and manta rays with real-world science!  This formed part of their topic ‘Oceans on the Edge’, where they explore threats to global oceans.

Inspired by the special work of marine biologist Chloe in the Maldives, each class explored these incredible ecosystems and prepared their most curious questions.

The teachers selected the best questions from each class and sent them to Chloe, who then chose two questions per class to answer. Students were thrilled to watch Chloe’s video responses, bringing their research to life and providing fascinating insights from the field.

Winners of the competition received a special pin badge and certificate in recognition of their curiosity and engagement.
