Oxford German Olympiad 2026
Following my entry into the Oxford German Olympiad 2026, I was awarded runner-up for the task I chose to complete, which was to write an essay in German on the future of vehicles titled “Fahrrad, Auto, Eisenbahn, Schiff, Flugzeug... Welche
Transportmittel werden wir im Jahr 2050 benutzen?”
This meant I was invited to the prize-giving ceremony, which was held in the Blackwell Hall of the Bodleian Library at Oxford University, which was an experience I will never forget.
At the ceremony, I had the chance to meet various language professors, as well as other students who had entered the competition. In addition to a certificate, I also received a bag containing various items, such as a textbook and a short novel titled ‘Ein Tag in Berlin’ (A day in Berlin).
Overall, I would highly recommend this annual competition for any language enthusiasts looking for an opportunity to showcase their linguistic skills and meet like-minded students from across the country.
