Looking after your wellbeing over the summer

Whilst some of you may be desperate for Friday to come and for the holidays to start, some of you may be feeling apprehensive, nervous and overwhelmed by the thought of 6 weeks without the routine and structure of school and being with friends on a daily basis.
If you are the latter, here are some tips to support you over the summer holiday:
Keep a gentle routine: While days can be flexible, keeping set times for meals and sleep helps your mind stay grounded.
Set screen boundaries: Too much time on phones or tablets can rewrite the brain's reward system, leading to chronic irritability and boredom when offline.
Limit social media: Constant scrolling often replaces real-world experiences, distorts reality, and disrupts healthy daily habits. Seeing highlights of your friend's travels and looking at curated, filtered photos fosters unrealistic lifestyle expectations.
Get outside: Sunlight and fresh air boost your mood. Be kind to yourself: You do not have to be busy every day. Doing "nothing" for a period of time is a great way to rest.
Eat well, sleep well and get moving: The three essential pillars for healthy brain development, emotional stability, and physical growth.
Ask for support: If the holidays feel overwhelming, do not wait to get help. Mrs Meyer shared a wellbeing support poster with you at the end of last week, providing you with a range of charities you can contact for support if needed.
Let go of the pressure to have the 'perfect summer' and try to enjoy each day as it comes.
Have a lovely, restful break and see you all in September.
